Shahin Zahir is a registered Social Worker and Practice Educator with extensive experience in Local Authority children’s services. She has frontline residential care experience, bringing practical insight to her leadership. She has held senior roles leading statutory teams supporting children and families with complex behavioural needs, disabilities, and high levels of vulnerability. Her expertise includes safeguarding, Child Protection, Children Looked After , Care Leavers, and transition-to-adulthood pathways, including transitions into Adult Social Care. She has supported social work students and newly qualified professionals throughout their careers through reflective supervision and practice development.

Shahin has delivered operational and strategic improvement initiatives to strengthen placement stability, improve multi-agency collaboration, and embed trauma-informed practice.

As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Shahin provides oversight of safeguarding practice, escalates concerns, and leads effective liaison with partner agencies. She is responsible for daily operations, regulatory compliance, and staff supervision, working closely with the Responsible Individual to ensure the home remains well-managed, and aligned with best practice
